Finding Iowa newspapers through interlibrary loan
* Start by clicking this link, which will open in a new browser window:

* Choose Library Catalog - You should now be on a "basic Search" page.
* Click on Advanced Search
* Enter "Newspaper" in the Format box on the "Advanced Search" page and click "Search"
A list of 3477 newspapers will come up!
You can refine the search a little by using other search options. These instructions let you browse their entire catalog for newspapers. If I remember correctly, the search above gives you newspapers available from most recent to the oldest.
I usually just take the printout of the one I want to my library with me and the lovely library ladies order it for me. The cost is minimal (currently $6.00 for 1-3 rolls of microfilm) and you get to keep the film at the library for 3 weeks.
